Mic on Nature was the first session of the 2020Audiocraft Festival. Presented by me and Sarah Allely (the Brain on Nature team), this session facilitated festival participants to go outside and make field recordings. The session’s objective was twofold: to get people out into the natural world before spending a day inside on their screens (this year’s festival was online, due to the pandemic), and to collect sounds from the many places in the world people were tuning into the festival from.
We created a soundscape (to be published soon) from the recordings shared by Mic on Nature participants. The final pieces incorporates sounds from Sydney to Seattle to Scotland to Singapore and many places in between.
