Brain on Nature

I am co-producer of the podcast Brain on Nature. The six-part narrative documentary presents science and research around the relationship between of nature and the human brain. The podcast interweaves the story of journalist Sarah Allely after she sustained mild traumatic brain injury, and used nature as a tool in her recovery.

As co-producer, I worked closely with Sarah from structure through scripting, editing and promotion.

Brain on Nature is an independent self-funded podcast. We have received widespread critical acclaim across the world. We have had positive media coverage, from the UK Financial Times, The Guardian, The Australian, The Big Issue, The Los Angeles Review of Books podcast channel, The NZ Sunday Times, Radio New Zealand, The NZ Listener, ABC Darwin, Radio National Breakfast and ArtsHub. The UK Financial Times named it one of their top ten podcasts of 2019, and Bello Collective named it one of their Outstanding Podcasts of 2019.

We are currently working on a second season of the show, which will look at how getting children off screens and back outdoors can benefit their brains, and could save the environment.
